Shoot ’em Up is exactly what it’s named. It’s a shoot ’em up, and a good on at that. Smith (Clive Owen) is a slightly irritated badass who has a thing for carrots. Who suddenly finds himself saving the life of a pregnant women he’s never met before while gun toting bad guys try to kill her. If you like shoot ’em ups then you’l love this movie.

Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker (2006)

Starring: Alex Pettyfer, Mickey Rourke and Sophie Okonedo

Director: Geoffrey Sax

Operation Stormbreaker is a spy movie about a young schoolboy who is called upon to be trained as an MI6 agent. It is based on Anthony Horowitz’s Alex Rider novels. There’s not much to say about this movie in terms of compliments, however the story would have the capacity to be quite good, but the casting and acting and writing really took away the possibility of it being a good movie. We don’t recommend that you watch it, however we’re sure the books are good.

Lord of War (2005)

Starring: Nicolas Cage, Ethan Hawke and Jared Leto

Director: Andrew Niccol

Lord of War is a realistic depiction of a modern day arms dealer about Yuri Orlov (Nicolas Cage) who immersed himself in the gun trade in his 30’s. It shows hand in hand his rise to power and declining morality. As usual Nicolas Cage stays consistent with a good performance. However we expected a different kind of movie, and the ending was surprising for us.
